Supply Chain Process Engineer
As a Supply Chain Engineer at Ackermans you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the overall, end-to-end supply chain and logistics strategy to maximize process efficiency and productivity.
The purpose of the role is to develop, implement and support supply chain policies, initiatives, and projects. Initiatives will focus on the optimization of business processes and supply chain activities to ensure supply chain activities are aligned to and supportive of the company’s merchandise objectives.
Experience Required
Essential:
3 to 5 years of Supply Chain experience
Previous clothing retail and/or FMCG retail experiance preferably within the current organisation or other businesses in the wider retail industry.
Understand the inner workings and product strategies and philosophies of the retail business environment
Understanding of Supply Chain processes in retail environment (Inbound, Distribution and Outbound logistics methodologies)
Preferred:
Issue and conflict management through resilience, a problem solving approach and effective communicator
Understanding of core retail departments such as buying, planning, distribution and store operations
Experience in working across a number of different business units and functions
Qualifications Required
Essential:
Degree in Supply Chain and / or Engineering
Project management certification
Certificate in Business modelling
Preferred:
Certified in Continuous Improvement (e.g., 6 Sigma, SCOR, LEAN)
A Degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Operations Research, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering
In addition, a National Diploma in Retail Management

Supply Chain management, models and supporting processes – Inbound and Outbound logistics, Warehousing and Distribution
Understanding of retail business systems and related processes – IT
Understanding of retail cycles and buying, sourcing, and planning processes
Working knowledge of modelling systems, WMS and ERP systems, planning systems and general process modelling techniques

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and Control by implementing supplier management framework, close loop on the supplier scorecard measures to show trends, onboard buyers, analyse stakeholder compliance in relation to supply chain manuals.
Build a tactical and operational view for tactical and strategic planning.
Load balance DC inflows and outflows across DCs taking into consideration supplier locations and shipping routes, receiving, and picking performance as well as storage capacities and transport cost impact
Identify, develop, and implement Supply Chain initiatives to support Strategic outcomes
Identify system enhancements to support process improvements and enhancements
Regular engagement with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment of supply chain activities to business objectives.
Actively engage and take responsibility of workstreams / tasks assigned within supply chain and the business.
