PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Are you ready to bring iconic characters to life and turn partnerships into powerful commercial success? We are searching for a dynamic marketing leader to drive the commercialisation of Ackermans’ character partnerships, character portfolio, and retail media platforms.
This includes building high-value partnerships, delivering engaging and compliant loyalty experiences, leading and monetising retail media platforms, and executing the promotional strategy for the character portfolio.
This exciting role ensures that Character supports the product strategy, aligns to licensor calendars and contractual obligations, enhances customer engagement, maximises retail media opportunities, and drives sustainable business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive revenue, margin, and customer engagement
Manage and optimise licensed partnerships to maximise commercial return and strengthen stakeholder relationships
Align campaign planning to licensor calendars and key trading periods to capitalise on peak opportunities
Drive the growth and monetisation of Character partnerships
Ensure full compliance with licensing agreements and brand governance standards
Develop and scale retail media opportunities to unlock new revenue streams
Collaborate cross-functionally (Marketing, Digital, Buying, Operations) to deliver seamless, commercially impactful execution
Track, analyse, and optimise campaign performance with a strong focus on ROI and continuous improvement
JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a blend of retail expertise, strategic thinking, and creative flair. Key focus areas include:
Character Licensing & IP Management - Understanding of character/brand licensing models, licensor relationships, royalty structures, and compliance requirements.
Retail & FMCG Marketing - Strong knowledge of retail marketing principles, promotional planning, and customer engagement strategies within a value retail environment.
Commercial & Financial Acumen - Understanding of P&L, margin management, pricing strategies, and how partnerships drive revenue and profitability.
Partnership & Contract Management - Knowledge of negotiating and managing strategic partnerships, including legal agreements and performance metrics.
Customer & Loyalty Strategy - Deep understanding of customer engagement, loyalty programmes, and promotional mechanics that drive repeat purchases.
Retail Media & Omnichannel Marketing - Knowledge of retail media platforms, digital marketing, in-store activation, and integrated campaign execution.
Regulatory & Brand Compliance - Awareness of marketing compliance, advertising standards, and ensuring alignment with licensor requirements and brand guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
5–8 years’ experience in marketing, campaign management, brand management, or related commercial roles
Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and measurable commercial outcomes
Experience managing integrated, multi-channel campaigns in a retail or FMCG environment
Exposure to licensed brands, partnerships, or sponsorships (highly advantageous)
Experience working with loyalty programmes, CRM, or customer engagement platforms (advantageous)
Demonstrated ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders
Strong experience in analysing campaign performance, budgets, and return on investment
