Clerk: Support Services
We've got an exciting, brand new opportunity at Ackermans as to join our Finance team. This Clerk: Support services role will perform administrative duties for support services functions (company cellphones) and accounting service functions (debtors). Ensure timely processing, reconciliation, and resolution of queries to maintain operational efficiency and financial integrity.
Key Focus Areas: Credit Cards, TravelIT and Forex
We're a fully in-office team. This role is based at our Support Centre in Kuils River, Cape Town.
QUALIFICATIONS required:
Essential:
National Diploma/ National Certificate Financial Accounting
Preferred:
B Comm (Accounts) /BTech
KNOWLEDGE required:
Strong financial administration skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Effective communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS required:
Essential:
2 -3 years relevant financial administration experience, including strong reconciliation experience
Preferred:
Retail experience
SKILLS required:
Computer skills, intermediate to advanced Excel
Ability to work under pressure and large volumes of work
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
1) Credit Cards
Administer day-to-day company credit card functions.
Process new applications within a 2-day turnaround time.
Address queries relating to company credit cards based on the JIRA SLA
Reconcile credit card suspense accounts and capture monthly statement journals.
Ensure overdue user statements are managed within parameters of not >30 days
Allocate suspense accounts correctly and timeously. Review processed items and perform a clearing on items for which both the debit and credit entries have been posted to ensure only open items reflect on the account.
Ensure the monthly vendor account is received and submitted for payment
2) TraveIIT
Prepare monthly journals and address queries related to travel expenses.
Reconcile Travel suspense accounts to the Trial Balance.
Ensure expenses are allocated correctly and timeously.
Allocate suspense accounts correctly and timeously. Review processed items and perform a clearing on items for which both the debit and credit entries have been posted to ensure only open items reflect on the account.
Ensure the monthly vendor account is received and submitted for payment
3) Forex
Administer ordering and repurchasing of forex for overseas travel.
Capture monthly order, repurchase, and costing journals to expenses.
Ensure orders, repurchases, expenses, and subsistence allowances are allocated correctly.
