E-Learning Content Designer
We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating cutting edge E-Learning content to join our Training and Development team. The role will be is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging digital learning content and experiences that support employee development and business objectives. It also ensures learning solutions are instructionally sound, visually appealing, and technologically effective, using modern tools and adult learning methodologies.
We're a fully in-office team. This role is based at our Support Centre in Kuils River, Cape Town.
Qualification Required:
Essential:
Diploma in HR, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Multimedia Design, or related field.
Preferred:
Certification in instructional design or e-learning development (e.g., CPLP, ATD).
Knowledge & Skills Required
Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Adobe Captivate).
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM standards.
Competence in graphic, video, and multimedia editing tools.
Strong MS Office and/or Google Workspace skills.
Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
Experience in designing engaging, learner-centered digital content.
Exposure to corporate and/or retail learning environments.
Creative thinker with a strong eye for visual design.
Effective planning, organizing, and project coordination skills, meeting tight deadlines
Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
High standard of quality, accuracy, and accountability in deliverables.
Experience Required:
Essential:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in e-learning content design and development.
Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative)
Preferred:
Experience working within graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
Key Responsibilities:
1) Instructional Design and Development
Design and develop e-learning modules, microlearning, and blended learning experiences using instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
Translate learning objectives into engaging, learner-centric digital content.
Use e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Adobe Captivate) to build interactive learning modules.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand content requirements and ensure brand consistency.
2) Learning Management System (LMS) Integration
Upload, manage, and track e-learning content in the LMS (e.g., Moodle)
3) Quality Assurance
Conduct thorough quality assurance checks, testing for functionality, usability, and technical compatibility.
Continuously review and update content based on learner feedback, business changes, or technology updates.
4) Visual and Multimedia Development
Design and create multimedia elements including graphics, animations, audio narration, and video using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
5) Stakeholder Collaboration
Work with HR, business leaders, and SMEs to align e-learning initiatives with organizational needs.
Provide guidance and support to L&D team members on instructional design and digital learning best practices.
