Marketing Manager: Digital
JOB PURPOSE:
The Manager: Digital will be responsible for managing the owned digital platforms of the business as well as the digital marketing strategy for all the products and services of the business.
Formulating the strategy for promotional and positional marketing on all digital channels and platforms collaborating with partners on the digital and digital media strategy implementation and execution thereof.
Briefing of new developments requirement to ensure that platforms and activities stay relevant to the target market’s expectation thus enabling Ackermans to offer enhanced and superior customer experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Governance
- Formulate the digital channel and platforms marketing strategy, and provide the digital media strategy
- Formulate the strategy for all social media platforms
- Formulation and implementation of the marketing digital operational plan for all channels allowing the brand to show its positional and promotional marketing that delivers ROI to the business.
- Sourcing, analyzing, and identifying new opportunities for Digital Marketing
- Ensure that data collected and used on the platforms is used in accordance with governance standards as prescribed by both the business and the platforms.
- Formulate and implement strategic initiatives that are aimed at converging digital and physical customer worlds and experiences.
- Ensure that there is a sound framework for regulating access to all earned and owned platforms and the protection of the underlying data.
- Collaborate with other business stakeholders and influence the digitization of business processes.
Channels
- Facilitate projects, business requirements and communication (especially around Marketing requirements) between Marketing and Systems Teams
- Work with business partners and technical experts to develop technology solutions to meet marketing, business, and customer objectives.
- Ensure the business is kept abreast of channel performance, modern technology, and development / improvement processes.
- Ensuring existing channels drives the virtual brand presence and connects with our customers in a relevant way.
- Employ an omni-channel approach to campaign execution to campaigns and activities.
- Optimize these channels to their full potential, adhering to best practice, and ensuring they are updated regularly.
- Drive engagement on all our digital platforms.
- Drive the acquisition of qualified traffic, online sales, and feet to store.
- Drive the measurement of in-store customers and store sales emanating from digital channels.

Online Commerce
Collaborate with online commerce team to drive website traffic and sales conversion through:
- Driving improvement of UI and UX
- Conceptualisation and execution of planned marketing content online
- Quick response online marketing initiatives in accordance with sales opportunities/ insights
- Review of performance and optimisation of site and/ or media
Processes Management
Development and management of the Marketing Digital processes flow from handover of the promotional grid to post campaign analysis. This includes:
- Setting up and automation of the processes
- Ensuring that the processes are followed.
- Adjusting the processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
Reporting
Compiling, analysis, and/or interpretation of the:
- Competitor reports
- Monthly management reports
- Monthly or Quarterly Digital Business Reviews
- Business Plans
- Post campaign Analysis
- Best practice KPI’s for each channel
- Content Pillars
Management
- People Management
- Expense Management
- Stakeholder Management
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential
- A minimum of 8 years’ relevant marketing experience gained in a marketing and digital environment. This experience should include working with social media, web sites electronic media & mobile channels, strong understanding of the connected customer, data, and analytics, as well as exposure to retail and digital environments
- Exceptional understanding of integration across digital channels (Web, App, USSD, Social Media Channels, Google, Facebook)
- Exceptional understanding of Digital Media Mix, strategy, buying and reporting
- Understanding of Google Marketing Cloud
- Excellent understanding of the various social media platforms and its technical requirements as well as the data behind it
- Experience in web design, digital and social media
- Experience in working with data and analytics
- Experience in UX, SEO and web-based CMS
Preferred
- Exposure to IT Service Management practices
- Knowledge of job ticketing system
- Knowledge of website product uploads

- Sound knowledge of digital media, digital channels, and the analytics of these
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications including advanced Excel competency or Google Suite
- Knowledge of digital industry, trends, tools and techniques and the integration thereof
- Know best practice in digital to advise and influence decision-makers about digital initiatives, priorities, and opportunities. Specifically, around UX, SEO and Web based CMS
- Knowledge of digital reporting and various analytical tools
- Knowledge of Social media platforms and reporting

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Essential:
- A Degree in Digital Marketing/Marketing or an equivalent qualification
- Google Accredited Courses
Preferred:
- A qualification in information systems, web and mobile design or development would be advantageous.
