In this role, you’ll be responsible for generating operational reports and providing the Operations team with accurate financial and sales data to support informed management decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Expenditure Management:

• Passing of accruals/journals
• Maintain reporting structures
• Developing of expense reports
• Follow up on expense queries

2. Projects:

• Involvement in Ops projects
• Value added contribution
• Successful completion of projects

3. Efficiency Reviews:

• Energy consumption
• Co-ordinate cost savings measures
• Energy administration

4. Submission of Information:

• SAMRO, SAMPRA, COSBOTS, NAMSOC
• Integrated Report
• Statistic SA

5. Reporting Preparation/ Distribution

• Budget variances
• Exception Reports
• P&L’s
• Petty Cash
• Store Visit Packs

6. Supplier Relationship Management:

• Build & Maintain relationships with suppliers
• Review of monthly invoices
• Ensuring suppliers are paid on time

• Knowledge and understanding of cost control principles and cost elements within retail.
• Knowledge of financial principles
• Working knowledge of relevant reporting systems
• Understanding of retail store activities
• Working knowledge of financial systems

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• BCOM Accounting or equivalent
• 1-2 years’ accounting/ finance experience in a retail environment
