Account Manager: Cellular
We’re seeking a dynamic Account Manager: Cellular to select, propose, procure, the appropriate product, negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements with the aim to ensure profitability on cellular products, to achieve the Company’s sales and profit objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop product ranges:
- Balanced range: price, features, style, supplier etc.
- According to strategy
- Success of products on GFK
- Forecasting and availability
2. Manage and drive the execution of product promotions:
- Select and implement appropriate deals
- Promotion sell-offs
- Post campaign analysis
3. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external suppliers :
- Effective relationships between Networks, OEM's, ODM's and Distributors through networking and organised store visists
4. Research new and existing products, guided by industry trends and customer behavior, and stay abreast of industry changes :
- New products profitability, alignment with BU and company strategy
- Make recommendations of future deals, products and promotions
5. Provide key information to management timeously
- Weekly Network reporting
- Monthly KPI Reports
- Comp Shop Feedback
- Projects Feedback
6. Achieve budgets per subclass
7. Manage ad-hoc cellular related projects
8. Managing and administration of products, pricing, rebates and payments
JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge:
- A comprehensive knowledge/understanding of SA’s value retail clothing market, customers and competitors
- A practical grasp of the South African Cellular market, would be advantageous.
- An excellent comprehension of branding, customer behavior and principles relevant to value retailing.
- Relevant product knowledge with regards to technology would be advantageous
- An understanding of product components (in order to effectively negotiate price)
Skills:
- Merchant skills and a sound commercial mentality
- Be Technology proficient/savvy in Cellular industry
- Knowledge of Financial Supply Chain elements
- Knowledge of direct sourcing
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Effectively negotiate and secure win-win agreements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers
- The ability to:
- work well under pressure and under tight deadlines.
- Prioritizes relevant information into an actionable plan.
- develop, monitor and maintain various processes and procedures simultaneously.
- drive execution, foster innovation, focus on delivery, and collaborate with others and to solve problems.
- Sound ability to work with and analyse numerical data

- Understand and interpret trends relevant to customer profile
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A relevant Business/Commercial Degree or Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years key account management experience in a retail/commercial and/or cellular environment
